Games you play with your ears and your voice.

Soundame is a screen-free audio game for all ages, made with kids in mind. A sound plays, you say what you hear out loud, and the app listens through your microphone and answers back. No reading — once you start, there's nothing to tap; the screen goes dark and you play by ear.

Play 5 minutes a day free - no account needed.
For unlimited play, every plan starts with a free 7-day trial,
then $3.99/mo individual or $6.99/mo family.

How it works

  1. Press Start. A simple visual guide helps at first, then fades to black as you learn - soon there's nothing to look at.
  2. Listen. A sound or a voice prompt plays.
  3. Answer out loud, or turn to face a sound. The app hears you and replies.

Works on any device with a microphone, in a reasonably quiet room. Some games ask you to hold the phone and turn - they use its built-in compass to sense which way you're facing. Earphones aren't required, but every game feels nicer with them.

Ways to play, no screen required

Who it's for

Made for all ages, with kids at the center - toddlers, teens, and grown-ups who want a break from a screen. The game adjusts to the player, so a small child and a teenager get a different session.

Because there's no reading, a young child can play on their own — hands-free and eyes-free. Soundame puts the screen down and uses sound alone to work on listening, focus, vocabulary, and imagination.

About the microphone and compass

Most games use your device's microphone to hear the player's spoken answers - that is the only thing the microphone is used for. Some games don't use it at all. A few games instead use the phone's built-in compass to sense which way you're facing as you turn. See our Privacy Policy for how data is handled.
